The lining you choose determines how much light enters your room and how your panels hang. Here is what each option does and how to find the right fit for your space.
HOW LINING WORKS
Every Thoa Home panel starts with its base fabric, which has its own natural light filtration. Adding a lining layer behind the panel increases coverage — the denser the lining, the darker the room. Our room darkening collections already filter approximately 70–75% of light unlined. Each lining option builds on that.

UNLINED
The natural state of the fabric
No additional layer. The panel filters light according to its base fabric alone. For room darkening collections, this means approximately 70–75% light filtration: a warm ambient glow, outside views screened, the room feeling private but not dark. Best for living rooms, dining rooms, and spaces where natural light is welcome.

PRIVACY LINING
More body, less light
A soft 100% cotton layer sewn behind your panel. It raises total filtration to approximately 80–85% — the warm glow reduces to a faint, even dimness — and adds body and weight to the drape. Best for bedrooms where some residual light is acceptable, or any space where unlined feels too bright.

BLACKOUT LINING
Genuine darkness, any time of day
A dense layer sewn behind your panel that blocks virtually all remaining light, bringing total filtration to approximately 99%. The room becomes genuinely dark regardless of the time of day. Best for primary bedrooms, nurseries, shift workers, and home cinemas.
